CAS Valentine Card....

So for some reason I refuse to go to bed at a decent hour since Christmas break (when I was FREE and didn't have to wake up for work)...I know I need to get an adequate amount of sleep for so many reasons, but late night is the only alone, quiet time that I get- so I try to make it last! Well, before I shut my peepers tonight or this morning rather, I thought I'd play along with a few challenges....so I created this Valentines Day card:

Supplies: Patterned Paper: American Crafts; Digi Stamp: Fresh Squeezed Stamps (Hearts), banner (I think it was a freebie from Teresa Collins' blog a long time ago); Stamp: Hero Arts; Glitter Tape: Recollections; Label: Smash; Tag: Avery; Ink: Memento; Mist: Heidi Swapp

Based on this sketch from: Freshly Made Sketches
And entered for challenges at the following places:
Casology- Week 29 Challenge - Game- Used the crossword puzzle background
Fresh Squeezed Stamps: Valentine's Day

Well, thanks so much for stopping by! Guess, I'll go night-night now since I have to be up in a few hours! Be sure to stop by and visit me on Friday for something pretty cool.... : )

Happy Saturday, Ladies and Gents!!! Hope that you all are having a fab weekend! Happy Birthday, SONshine!

Today is my youngest son's birthday! And I can hardly believe that he is 11!!! I want him to be 5 forever! So sweet and cute with a huge personality! My goodness, I'm so proud of him for the young man that he is becoming! He's such a smart and wise beyond his years young man- so practical and old- man like with his sensibility but still my baby with his little chubby cheeks and innocence! Oh, so of course I had to make him a little card! I found some pretty fun challenges to to inspire this card!

Supplies: Sketch: Friday Sketch Challenge; Digi Image: Saturated Canary-Give Big; Patterned Paper: Crate Paper- Toy Box; Stamps: Docerela Creations- Make Your Calendar (numbers), Smash*it (stars); Studio Calico; Twine- Divine Twine; Ink: Copics, Prima; Glitter Star: from my stash
First I was inspired by the current challenge at Saturated Canary Challenge Blog which is to create a card based on a song! And immediately after I looked through my Saturated Canary digital images I knew I wanted to use it and Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" to inspire the birthday card! I chose the youthful little guy and also this nostalgic  Crate Paper-Toy Box papers to create a card that resonated youth!  The first part of the song  "Forever Young"  is exactly what I want to tell my son as he grows into a young man, so it is the inside of the card:

May the good lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart you'll always stay
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young

Then I found this great sketch at Friday Sketch Challenge:

Added those challenges together and created a fun and bright card for my 11 Year Old!
I simply adore this boy and want him to remain a baby, but I know I must let him grow (and let's face it, I can't stop it), so may as well focus on the awesome young man that he IS as opposed to dwelling on the sweet baby that he WAS! So, I hope you all have an awesome January 8th! I know January 8, 2002 was one of the greatest days and  blessings of my life!

Meeting My Scrappy Goals with Challenges...

I'm feeling pretty scrappy lately and even though I can't post everything I've been working on...trust me it feels good to actually get supplies and immediately go to work with them! Yay for Scrappy Mojo! I made this little card based on a few challenges...

Supplies: Sketch: Mojo Monday; Digi Image; Alicia's Crafty Corner; Stamps: Docerela Creations- Be Mine, Smash *it; Patterned Paper: Crate Paper- Farmhouse; Mistable: Studio Calico; Film Strip: Tim Holtz; Glitter: Ranger Inc.; Ink: Hero Art, Prima; Mist: Dylusions, Studio Calico; Markers: Coppices

First off I used this week's sketch from Mojo Monday...

And, I also used one of Alicia's Camera girl digi to for my third entry into her awesome "Anything Goes" Challenge HERE! I was  terribly afraid of digital images and coloring, but after playing with Alicia's images all week I'm really inspired and want to learn so much more about coloring with Copics, Promarkers, and colored pencils!

Well, I hope that the scrappiness continues so that I can reach my goal of actually using my products (especially since I've been on a scrappy binge since last month- Yikes!) and going through my stash to actually see what I have instead of just using what's on top of the pile! Oh and the current challenge HERE at Simon Says Stamp and Show made me think twice about my paper selection- at first I reached for my new Crate Paper line that I received last week to complete my card, but the challenge is to use an oldie but goodie, so I dug into my stash and pulled out an older line of my beloved Crate Paper- Farmhouse! I also dug deep into one of my little random scrappy bins and found my TH Film Strip Ribbon which I haven't used in forever! It's so cute!  Glad I found it!  LOL!

And speaking of oldies but goodies...the current challenge at Mema's Crafts is to link up your favorite project from 2012! Hmm...I think THIS is one of my favorite 2012 projects! This little shadow box that I created for Docerela Creations Summertime Stamp Challenge in June was so fun to make and display....

Well crafty friends, thanks so much for stopping by!

Oh, and don't forget to play along with the Challenge at Docerela Creations; which is to use red or pink on a new project! So, be sure to check out the challenge HERE and link up your projects!!! Can't wait to see what you make!

Happy New Year!!!

Happy 2013, Ladies and Gents!

I'm so excited about the New Year because I really feel as though this is going to be a year of enormous positive change in my life! I know some things may be hard, but in the end it will be so worth it to live a happy, healthier, and more creative life! To celebrate, I made a little card for "us" because I want us all to have "the good life" in 2013 (and from here on out)!!!
(Sorry for the poor photo quality!)

My card is based on this week's Studio Calico card sketch challenge and I used an older Studio Calico kit that I love- Daydream Believer! Entering into Cameo Creations Challenge- the challenge is to create a project welcoming 2013!  One of my 2013 goals is to actually use my SC kits instead of hoard them, so I plan to finish off Daydream believer this week! Woohoo! I'm also entering into this week's Simon Says Stamp challenge- anything goes. You probably noticed that cute little camera girl digi image, right? Oh, and please ignore my horrible Copic marker coloring skills. That's on my 2013 list too--- learn how to use Copics! Anyway, the cute little image is from Alicia's Crafty Corner and she is hosting an 'anything goes' challenge. One of the requirements is that you use one of her images, so I was more than happy to scoop up this cute little girl because ANOTHER one of my goals is to get back into learning about photography! Do you see a theme? Yep, I have a lot of goals for 2013!!! LOL!!! Well, it's the wee hours of the morning, so I'm gonna shut 'er down for now...see you soon with more creativity!

Oh, and if you haven't already entered please be sure to hop over to Docerela Creations and enter the current challenge-- which is to create a project that includes a number on it! So, yeah, if you are making resolution layouts, Happy New Year cards, or anything else that would have a number on it... be sure to hop over HERE and link it up for a chance to win an awesome set of Docerela Creations stamps!!! Hurry, only one more day left to enter!!!!

AND, one more thing....be sure to hop back over and visit me on Friday because it's stamp release day!!! Woot Woot! And let me just tell you....this new stamp set is too cute!!! LOVE!!!

Alright you awesome people...nighty night!
